ABOUT
Blocked?
I habitually block NozoK*f* + NozoJ*n artists and fans on sight, nothing personal.
If you post weird or creepy shit about Nozomu, I'll probably block you. Otherwise, I do heavily curate my space online, so you likely just post things or follow people I don't really like. I don't expect fidelity from users that aren't my close friends, but know that I do tend to
hard block or unfollow + mute users that follow/interact with certain accounts.
How did you find Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei?
I discovered the anime while browsing an image board in 2014, enjoyed the jokes enough to torrent and binge the entire thing that summer, and immediately fell for Itoshiki Nozomu. My first impression of him was that he was cute and entirely ridiculous, but he quickly won me over and I started really thinking about him romantically. After that, I started frequently posting about him in an anonymous waifu/husbando community for many years before coming to Twitter and beyond to share my vast love for him. The series itself is pretty special to me, and while I'm not a superfan, nor have I memorized every single little thing about it, I enjoy it and collect whatever Nozomu merchandise I can get my hands on!
Why Nozomu?
When I first saw Nozomu in the anime, I latched onto him right away because of how goofy and relatable he was. He's cute, sensitive, gullible, dramatic, and so endearing and fun to watch. I love him. Just seeing a photo of him can turn me into a blushy schoolgirl. I really, genuinely treasure him. Thinking about him and the love I have for him has helped me through so many hard times. Honestly, I haven't died yet because I don't want to leave him behind. We're a pair of suicidal idiots, but I think us being so similar is a lot more fun than being opposites. He's the only one I've ever felt this intensely passionate about, and I consider him to be my most important thing in the world. He's my one and only love. Therefore, I may occasionally be a little cranky or avoidant in response to how the fandom treats him sometimes. Like I've mentioned previously, my love for Nozomu is not a casual hobby for me, so it's probably better that you keep away if you think I take this too seriously.
What is のぞライ?
のぞライ, NozoRai, is my "ship name" with Nozomu! It's just a mash-up of Nozomu's name and my name, Light, which is written in katakana as ライト (Raito).
More about you?!
I'm 29 years old, she/they pronouns are fine! My social media profiles are all usually Nozomu-centric, but I do indeed "have a life" and enjoy plenty of things aside from him! If you want to know what else I'm into, check out my
AniList profile. I love collecting merch!! Here is
my merch shrine and
my plushie collection. A good amount of my merch collection is catalogued here on
MyFigureCollection! For hobbies, I draw every day (99% of it will never be posted to my social media lol), play video games, read light novels and manga/manhwa, watch video game playthroughs, listen to music, and of course manage this website. I work from home and have lots of free time! If you're an artist and you ever want to draw Nozomu/NozoRai, I'll happily commission you! Just reach out! Thanks for reading this far.
Here are my long-time interests, in no particular order:

Where'd you get your merch?
I get this question often, so here are my secrets! My Nozomu shrine is what it is today because of my big three - JP Mercari, Yahoo Auctions, and Surugaya. I mainly use proxy services to buy up whatever I find that I want, and then every month/every other month I consolidate it all before I hit my 60 days of storage and ship it to myself in one big parcel. A lot of the Zetsubou-sensei merchandise is rare/old, so patience is key since it's really a waiting game to see if things get listed anywhere by people retiring their collections. If something I want gets listed, I will most likely buy it up instantly since money isn't an issue for me and I prefer to quickly scoop up things I know are rare. I do have dupes of a lot of items I'm potentially willing to part with (see
MFC), so if you're interested in something from my collection, you're free to inquire via DM, or I can keep an eye out for specific listings for you. Overall, I'm really happy with how my shrine has grown over the past few years, and I've gotten really lucky with snagging a lot of my most-wished items. I have a lot of stuff still stored away that I want to display once I find a way to fit some more shelving in my office/merch room! Also, I recently made a
TikTok account to post photos and videos of my shrine + merch hauls, give it a look if you'd like!
Thoughts on the other characters in the series?
I like them all! Tsunetsuki Matoi is my favorite of the girls (maybe because I would probably behave similar to her if I was one of Nozomu's students? lol lmao). I like Fuura Kafuka, I just dislike seeing her paired with Nozomu. I
heavily avoid shippers and ship art, since I don't feel comfortable seeing the grown man that I love depicted romantically with minors, sorry!
